Hello

Hi there I’m Annie -

My Story

Hi, I’m Annie, the person behind Genesis Hydrotherapy Clinic. I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, growing up in a home always filled with dogs and horses. Caring for our family dog in her later years is what first sparked my interest in canine rehabilitation and how much the right support can improve a dog’s comfort and quality of life. That experience led me to train in canine hydrotherapy and eventually create Genesis. What I love most about this work is seeing the moment a dog begins to feel stronger and more confident again. Every dog is different, so I take a calm, patient approach and work at their pace. I’m in the water with every dog during every session, giving them my full attention and carefully adjusting the work to suit their needs.I work closely with referring vets and provide regular updates so we can support each dog’s progress together. Hydrotherapy is a partnership between therapist, vet, owner and dog.Every dog that comes through the door matters to me. I understand the trust owners place in me, and I take the responsibility of caring for each dog in my pool very seriously. My goal is always the same — to help them move more comfortably, regain strength, and enjoy life again.

Annie's Approach

In the Water
At Genesis, I work in the water with every dog during every session. This allows me to support their movement directly, guide limb placement, and respond immediately to signs of fatigue, discomfort, or improvement. Being in the pool with the dog provides a much closer level of observation and control, helping ensure each session is both safe and clinically effective.

Communication with Vets
Hydrotherapy works best as part of a collaborative approach. I maintain clear communication with referring veterinary practices and provide written session reports after each visit, outlining progress, observations and any adjustments to the programme. This ensures vets remain fully informed and that each dog’s rehabilitation stays aligned with the veterinary diagnosis and treatment plan.

Individual Programmes
No two dogs are the same, so every hydrotherapy programme at Genesis is tailored to the individual dog’s needs, condition and stage of recovery. Sessions are carefully progressed over time, with monthly reviews to assess strength, mobility and tolerance to exercise. As dogs improve, support may gradually change — for example progressing from buoyancy jackets to harness work — encouraging natural movement and building strength safely. Once a treatment programme is complete, we often encourage monthly maintenance sessions to help preserve the strength, mobility and progress we have achieved together
