What is canine hydrotherapy?

Canine hydrotherapy is a form of physical rehabilitation that uses the natural properties of water to help dogs move more freely, build strength and recover from injury or surgery. Warm water provides a safe, low-impact environment where dogs can exercise with reduced stress on their joints and muscles. The buoyancy of the water supports their body weight, while the resistance helps to build muscle tone and improve circulation — making it ideal for dogs who struggle with land-based exercise.

Hydrotherapy can benefit dogs of all ages and breeds, whether they are recovering from an orthopaedic procedure, managing a long-term condition such as arthritis or hip dysplasia, or simply looking to improve their overall fitness and wellbeing.

Sessions are always supervised by a qualified hydrotherapist who tailors each treatment to the individual needs of the dog, ensuring they are comfortable, safe and getting the most out of every session.
